Blower Door Test
A Blower Door Test shows Air Leakage in a home. Using a powerful calibrated fan a home is depressurized, which shows every place the home is leaking. This allows us to find out two very important things:
1. Using computer modeling, the total amount of Air leakage is determined and an estimated cost of heating and cooling loss is computed. If you look at the information below you can see that this home had almost a 3 1/2 foot by 3 1/2 foot hole in the wall and it was costing $283 dollars a year!
2. The second result of depressurizing the home is that all of the holes and leaks are exaggerated. This allows us to identify them so that all the holes can be sealed.
